Weekly Round Up!
-Officers received a call for a fraud report at a local business. A new employee was deceived believing their corporate manager was on the phone. The “manager” instructed the employee to empty out the safe and transfer money to them via “Bitcoin” ATM. If you are questioning the legitimacy of a caller or possible fraud, please contact your local police department. If you have been scammed in the past, you can utilize IC3.gov for additional information.
-Officers responded to a local car dealership for a report of a catalytic converter theft. Officers were able to retrieve surveillance footage of the incident and have forwarded this to the Division of Criminal Investigations.
-During patrol in the overnight hours, an officer observed a vehicle driving in an unsafe manner. During the subsequent traffic stop, the officer informed the driver of the fact that the headlights and tail lights of the vehicle were non-operational. During the investigation it was discovered that multiple warrants were issued for the driver’s arrest from a surrounding agency. The driver was issued citations from Ballwin for Driving while Suspended and No Insurance. They were arrested and held in our custody until the other department came to pick them up.
