See smoke coming from Lone Elk Park yesterday? Don't worry, it was on purpose. It's called a prescribed burn and helps control the natural ecosystem and promote growth in the affected areas.
This burn was planned and managed by the forestry division of St. Louis County Parks. It was the first one of the year at Lone Elk Park.
